Campaigning for Change: Social Policy

The Citizens Advice service has always had twin aims: to give advice and to seek to influence national and local services and policies.

We collect evidence from our clients to highlight recurring problems and campaign for change. We gather evidence, publicise problems and discuss issues with Government, local councils and other policy makers to help them improve the laws and services that affect ordinary people. Successful campaigns have resulted in the introduction of rent deposit schemes, better housing benefit services and action from Ofgem to fine a major fuel supplier and make it improve its services.

More information on Citizens Advice Social Policy can be found on the national website, where you can download evidence journals and reports which detail previous campaigns.
