The Newcastle Debt Advice Service provides specialist advice to clients with debt problems in Newcastle. Appointments can be made for clients who have been referred by a CAB adviser or from another service. Last year the unit's experienced staff dealt with 806 cases involving over £5 million pounds of debt.

The Tribunal Assistance Scheme supports clients from all parts of Newcastle, who have been referred by a CAB adviser or by another service. Expert advice is available on on Income Support, Incapacity Benefit, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Housing and Council Tax Benefits and Jobseeker’s Allowance. £532,353.98 was recovered for clients in 2003/4, and 98 tribunals were attended.
