How to get advice

General Advice

Newcastle CAB provides advice at our three offices. You do not need an appointment to attend our Generalist Advice sessions - just come along during our office hours. Click on the office name to get the details: City Bureau (Nelson Street), Cruddas Park Bureau, and Cowgate Bureau.

You can find information here about our out-of-office-hours advice sessions.

If you would like to contact us in writing you can email, fax or write to us at the City Bureau. Please include your full postal address in your correspondence. We will reply to email messages by letter - we are sorry that in busy periods the delay may extend to eight weeks. If you require advice more quickly then please come along to one of our drop in advice sessions. We provide advice to residents who live or work within the area covered by Newcastle City Council. If you would like to find the bureaux for other parts of the country visit the national site.

Our telephone line is staffed by advisers on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings 10.00 am - 12 noon. At other times you can listen to recorded infromation from our automated telephone system. Call 0844 499 4717. Calls cost 5p a minute from BT land lines and may vary from other telephone providers.

Good quality advice can be found from the national citizens advice web site: advice guide.

Expert Advice

General Advisers can refer clients to expert services. Clients needing special advice can use these services if they are referred to them by a CAB adviser, or from another service. These include the Newcastle Debt Advice Service, the Face to Face Debt Advice project or the Tribunal Assistance Service.
